Adult Health Testing

All of our breeding adult dogs that are 2 years of age have health testing performed.

Hip/Knee Testing

We only breed dogs with an OFA Score of GOOD or better with a Patella score of Normal or better

Orthopedic Foundation for Animals (OFA) - maintains searchable database of health certification results

note: OFA offers the storage of a variety of test results as a service so that these results can be centralized. To be included, the dog owner/breeder must submit these results to OFA. Therefore, for non-orthopedic tests, absence of a record with OFA does not mean the test was not performed.

Eye Testing

Canine Eye Registration Foundation (CERF) - Records results of eye evaluations by veterinary opthalmologists. Searchable database.

DNA Testing

All Shiba Inu males used for breeding are DNA'd. DNA results are maintained by the AKC.
